Xiaomi is reported to have developed a circular protrusion for the back panel of the 12 Ultra. This protrusion features a central lens around which other components, including a watch face made from camera components, are placed.
This is an image purporting to show a prototype of the 12 Ultra camera, but this time with only 3 rear lenses and one flash module. In place of the lens at the 12 o’clock position, there are a few overpowered lines of text, along with a large “120X” legend.
This potentially confusing new advice, however, is contradicted by other images within the same Chinese media report that show twelve Ultra-related designs with some or all of their putative lenses restored.
In addition to the “120X” head logo, there is “10/12-100mm” and “AI CAMERA,” implying some of the flagship’s camera features, though in different positions. Furthermore, the latter is accompanied by even more case images that show the massive amount of cutouts needed to match the rumored Xiaomi is reported to have developed a circular protrusion for the back panel of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. Despite this, it is difficult to shake the impression that Xiaomi has not finalized the Ultra’s design. It could also be a result of this upcoming 3-lens version being destined for an additional model like the 12S. If this is the case, then both devices will feature Leica branding and a choice of materials for the rear panel.
