Currently, Samsung’s June Security Maintenance Release (SMR) for Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra is available for users in Germany. Later this week, other European countries will be able to download it. For the phones, the current firmware version is G99*BXXU5CVEB.

Samsung has begun distributing the June 2022 Android security patch for the Galaxy S21 series. In Europe, the new security update is being rolled out first to the Galaxy flagships of 2021. Eventually, it will also be rolled out in other regions, including the US.

The Samsung update may also include additional bug fixes and/or improvements for the Galaxy S21 series. Unfortunately, we do not have the changelog on hand to verify that. If any new features or major changes are discovered with the latest software package for Samsung flagships in 2021, we will notify you.

With the June security update, the Galaxy S21 series follows the Galaxy Tab S7 series. The latter has also been released in Europe and is widely available there. Other Samsung devices have not yet picked up the latest SMR, and possibly other non-Samsung devices as well. Since over a year ago, the Korean firm has embarrassed other Android OEMs with the pace of its security updates. This time, the launch was two weeks early. Samsung is now gradually introducing new Galaxy models.
