According to Google, there are more than 2 billion people on earth (about 25% or more of us) who do not have an address or the address is not easy to find. We think that these strings of numbers and words are taken for granted.
In order to solve this problem, the company launched “Plus Codes” in 2015. These are basically numeric addresses derived from latitude and longitude coordinates and can be used to identify any location. Now, it has been integrated into Google Maps for Android. If you do n’t know the exact address (such as street name, driveway, etc.), or when your current location does not display a name on Google Maps, the “plus” code will come in handy.
Google ’s system divides the geographic area of the earth into tiny, tiled areas, and then assigns a “unique” code to each area. The code contains a “six-character + city” format that anyone can share and search. If you own Google Maps, that ’s fine, but if someone sends you a plus code, you can also find it in Google Search to find the exact location.
Google introduced the Plus code 5 years ago, allowing you to share locations in short alphanumeric format, whether you ca n’t find the address at all or in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to actually use them, so now Google can share Plus code more easily than ever.
Starting today, on Android, as long as you want to share your exact location, you can click the blue location point in Google Maps. After clicking, you will see your plus code and the option to share or save the location with others. You can also choose to share your phone number.
You can also access the plus code of a single location by clicking and holding the map to place the pushpin; then you will be able to see the plus sign for that place.
These codes can be searched in Google Maps and Google Search, so they are a convenient way to provide meeting and event locations without providing an exact address. When you may not know your exact location, they can also be used as a life-saving straw in an emergency.
Thanks for your tips. One thing really noticed is that often banks and financial institutions understand the spending behavior of consumers plus understand that most of the people max out and about their cards around the trips. They smartly take advantage of this real fact and begin flooding ones inbox and snail-mail box using hundreds of Zero APR credit cards offers immediately after the holiday season ends. Knowing that should you be like 98 of American public, you’ll leap at the opportunity to consolidate personal credit card debt and move balances for 0 interest rates credit cards.
Good blog! I truly love how it is simple on my eyes and the data are well written. I am wondering how I might be notified whenever a new post has been made. I have subscribed to your RSS feed which must do the trick! Have a nice day!
Thanks for your article. I also think laptop computers are becoming more and more popular right now, and now are often the only type of computer used in a household. This is due to the fact that at the same time that they are becoming more and more economical, their computing power keeps growing to the point where they can be as powerful as personal computers from just a few in years past.
I have realized some considerations through your website post. One other subject I would like to say is that there are plenty of games in the marketplace designed particularly for toddler age children. They incorporate pattern identification, colors, pets, and patterns. These typically focus on familiarization in lieu of memorization. This makes a child occupied without having the experience like they are studying. Thanks
