According to Google, there are more than 2 billion people on earth (about 25% or more of us) who do not have an address or the address is not easy to find. We think that these strings of numbers and words are taken for granted.
In order to solve this problem, the company launched “Plus Codes” in 2015. These are basically numeric addresses derived from latitude and longitude coordinates and can be used to identify any location. Now, it has been integrated into Google Maps for Android. If you do n’t know the exact address (such as street name, driveway, etc.), or when your current location does not display a name on Google Maps, the “plus” code will come in handy.
Google ’s system divides the geographic area of the earth into tiny, tiled areas, and then assigns a “unique” code to each area. The code contains a “six-character + city” format that anyone can share and search. If you own Google Maps, that ’s fine, but if someone sends you a plus code, you can also find it in Google Search to find the exact location.
Google introduced the Plus code 5 years ago, allowing you to share locations in short alphanumeric format, whether you ca n’t find the address at all or in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to actually use them, so now Google can share Plus code more easily than ever.
Starting today, on Android, as long as you want to share your exact location, you can click the blue location point in Google Maps. After clicking, you will see your plus code and the option to share or save the location with others. You can also choose to share your phone number.
You can also access the plus code of a single location by clicking and holding the map to place the pushpin; then you will be able to see the plus sign for that place.
These codes can be searched in Google Maps and Google Search, so they are a convenient way to provide meeting and event locations without providing an exact address. When you may not know your exact location, they can also be used as a life-saving straw in an emergency.
Hiya, I’m really glad I’ve found this info. Nowadays bloggers publish only about gossips and net and this is really irritating. A good web site with interesting content, this is what I need. Thanks for keeping this web site, I’ll be visiting it. Do you do newsletters? Cant find it.

I have seen that now, more and more people are increasingly being attracted to surveillance cameras and the industry of taking pictures. However, being photographer, it’s important to first devote so much time period deciding the model of digital camera to buy along with moving from store to store just so you could possibly buy the most affordable camera of the brand you have decided to pick. But it won’t end there. You also have to take into account whether you should buy a digital camera extended warranty. Thanks for the good guidelines I gathered from your site.
Thanks for your article on this web site. From my own personal experience, many times softening upward a photograph may well provide the digital photographer with a little an inventive flare. Oftentimes however, that soft blur isn’t precisely what you had in mind and can sometimes spoil a normally good image, especially if you consider enlarging them.
