The Xiaomi Black Shark 5 series has been available in China since March 30. Now, the brand is testing the Black Shark 5 and Black Shark 5 Pro in Malaysia, where it will debut outside of China for the first time. The brand-new game series will launch on June 8 at 7 p.m. m. in Malaysia (around 4:30 pm in India). Pricing and pre-order details will be announced in the pre-order. Xiaomi will live stream the event on the official website and other social media channels of Black Shark Malaysia. The Black Shark 5 series will be available in India shortly afterward.

China launched the Black Shark 5 and Black Shark 5 Pro in March. Each phone has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz and FHD+ resolution. Display features include 1,300 nits of brightness, HDR10+, and P3 color gamut.

The Snapdragon 870 chipset powers the Black Shark 5 along with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Black Shark 5 Pro is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor, accompanied by 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. Out of the box, the phones run Android 12 with the JoyUI custom OS on top.

The Black Shark 5 series features a 720Hz touch sampling rate and a dual-zone pressure-sensitive display. With a 4650mAh battery and 120W fast charging support, both smartphones in the series offer a lot of battery power. According to the manufacturer, the phone can be fully charged within 15 minutes. The charger comes with the box, which is a plus.

In India, Xiaomi is one of the largest brands, with numerous sub-brands. There are also a number of gaming smartphones launched in India by Black Shark. According to reports, Black Shark 5 and Black Shark 5 Pro will be available outside of China.
