There has been a new release of Android Auto (7.7) which fixes cable-related issues with the Samsung Galaxy S22, the Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra. APK files for this update are currently in beta, but you can download them and install them on your Galaxy S22.
People have been experiencing problems running Android Auto since the Galaxy S22 series was released. Users complained that they could only charge their phones and not project the Android Auto UI on their car’s infotainment system. This issue seems to be resolved now.
There appears to be a new issue caused by the new update. The car’s infotainment system shows a black screen even after a successful connection. It seems that this problem is not exclusive to the Galaxy S22 series; Pixel smartphones are also reporting this problem, so it appears that Google should be fixing this.
There have been reports of Samsung devices even restarting after displaying a black screen. The bug tracker indicates that this issue has been fixed, but people are still experiencing it. Google’s Android Auto app still has a lot to do.
